The brand
Hamidiye is drawn from springs in the forests north of İstanbul and has supplied the city for well over a century, originally through public fountains still standing today. It is one of the few consumer brands genuinely local to where this company sits.
Why it travels
The name carries weight with anyone who knows İstanbul, which covers most of the diaspora audience in Western Europe. This is a recognition purchase rather than a price purchase, so it behaves differently on the shelf than a generic water does.
